Craft expert Kathy Ross’s writing career grew out of her experience working with children. After twenty-five years of developing programs for nursery schools, Ross decided to put her most successful craft ideas down on paper. Not only did her crafts tie into classroom themes and learning activities, but Ross was very sensitive to teachers' budgets; all of her crafts are put together using inexpensive, everyday items that most people have around the house.
After her first craft book, Crafts for Halloween, was published in 1994, teachers and parents quickly realized how fun and simple crafting with children could be, and sales of Ross’s books skyrocketed. To date, Ross has written more than fifty craft books for children, which altogether have sold more than one million copies!
Ross also writes children’s songs and has been a contributor to Highlights for Children magazine for numerous years. She has appeared on New York television, including NBC Weekend Today Show, CBS New York News and Fox Good Morning New York, and she has also filmed segments for Home and Garden TV.
